I may have only gone to the festival for the one day, the friday, but it was the most awesome thing I've been to in terms of music concerts!!
I managed to bring my younger brother with me as well for the day, like got a ticket for him at the last minute. And we had to get up on the friday morning for 5 am so we could get an early train up to Leeds for 9 am.
Then met up with those two mates of mine camping for the weekend, and for the whole day afterwards we went and rocked like crazy at the main stage!! Plus for the time we we're at the main stage, we managed to get to the very front of the crowd and be right up close to each performing band!!

First band on at midday was My Chemical Romance, they weren't bad I guess, but I havnt been a fan of them.
Then watched a band called Alkaline Trio, not familiar with them, but they were pretty good. Then saw Funeral For A Friend and they were really good, and being right at the front me and my bro got caught in a few mosh pits and just went ape shit crazy crashing and slamming into everyone in it, got abit battered mind you
Then took a break from the music and crashed out at my mates tent, had some beers and aload of burgers and stuff.
At 6 we went back to the main stage again for the evening performances. Incubus then came on, I've never really listened to incubus, or even thought they were good, but after seeing them there at the festival they were real good, kinda impressed me from my original expectations. Plus they had this funky electric DJ playing some real cool techno sounds along with the guitars, not bad.

Then the place started going even more crazy and wild when Marilyn Manson came on, christ I nearly died at the front, everyone came charging forward from behind crushing me and my mates between them and the few rows of people at the front barrier.
But fucking hell, Manson was awesome!! His performance was so totally nuts and manic, tons of smoke everywhere on stage where he was, and he kept changing his outfit for each song. He came on waving a smoking chanderlier singing lines from the bloody original charlie and the chocolate factory film. And then after that the whole crowd was jumping, moshing and just going insane!!! It was just fucking mega!!

But Manson had only warmed up the crowd for Iron Maidens performance!! It got even more insane when Maiden came on, and jesus christ my all time favourite band just blew my mind away when I saw them jump out onto stage right infront of me. I was literally at the front barrier when they came on, they were right there in my face so damn close. And the whole crowd then went truely ape shit!! Thousands of people jumping everywhere, crushing us at the front, it was damn enduring trying to keep yourself going at the front, but it was worth it. Maiden just totally ripped up the whole night and had the crowd in it's hand, Brue Dickingson (lead vocals) just had the whole crowd in his power, it was insane!! Loads of pyrotechnics going off, fire, and giant eddie iron maiden figures coming on and off stage, was sheer awesome!!! I've never experienced anything so huge and as mega as this!!
Maiden though was playing songs only from their first 4 albums, like from 25 years ago! But even though the songs being as old as they were, it still blew the shit outta the crowd and had everyone jumping mad!! Fucking hell it was the greatest thing for me!!
Heh, and since then I've wrecked my voice after all the shouting and raving, I can barely talk properly! And half deaf too

It was sheer awesome, the whole festival for that one day, truely awesome!
And after it all me and my bro crashed out at the tent for the night, but kinda got kept awake all night coz of all the noise. Then got back home yesterday, totally thrashed and exhausted after the one day.
Man, for all you rockers out there, just get to a festival while your still young, it's an awesome experience!!! Just get pissed, stoned or whatever and rock the shit outta yourself!!!
